For more than two decades, the Woyene regime in Ethiopia has caused unprecedented mayhem in an ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa.
By Yosef Tesfasilase
The Tigrayan People's Liberation Front (TPLF), known more commonly as Woyane or Weyane, is a political party in Tigray, Ethiopia. At the last legislative elections, the party was the main part of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front, that claimed 499 out of 547 seats. In the August 2005 Regional assembly elections, the party claimed victory, winning all 152 seats in the Tigray Region.
Unfortunately, countless innocent people have perished under this TPLF regime. Time and time again, this regime has shown the International Community that it has neither moral obligations nor the nobility to respect the fundamental rights of sovereignty of Eritrea and Somalia, or the fundamental human rights of its own citizens. Woyene has evaded scrutiny mainly because is has blanket immunity from Developed Countries to label anyone (human beings or animals) as terrorists, and deal with them as such.
Shedding Crocodile Tears
This regime has been given seemingly unconditional immunity from the International Community to butcher citizens in the Horn of Africa under the umbrella of terrorism for more than two decades. Thousands of innocent lives have been perished under the belly of this beast, because they were perceived to be terrorists. For more than two decades, the beast’s regime has used pseudo-terrorism’s tears to invade its neighbor nations, such as Eritrea and Somalia, and to sentence thousands of innocent lives to perish in abhorrent jails because they were perceived to be terrorists for the nation of Ethiopia and for the world. Once the regime chooses to wield the blanket of pseudo- terrorism, the International Communities not only gives it an immense immunity from prosecution but also millions of dollars in aid!
An activist, Andargachew Tseige, was recently victimized by this regime in Ethiopia. Mr. Andargachew, who is a citizen of the United Kingdom, was arrested while transiting from the International Airport of Sana, Yemen. (1) Once arrested, his rights as a citizen were totally disregarded, and he was extradited to Ethiopia. Mr. Andargachew’s experience has been viewed as an unprecedented International Aviation violation of human rights on huge scale that the world has not witnessed before June, 2014. However, the citizens of Horn of Africa are not astonished by the appalling character of the TPLF.
For more than a decade, Eritrean’s villages on the borders of Ethiopia have constantly been victimized by this regime. They have presided over the stealing of live-stock from Eritrean farmers and the abduction of young girls to rape them. For more than a decade, the regime has constantly harassed the Eritrean government on local levels and international levels. Despite provocation, the Eritrean government has taken prudent and brilliant approaches to avoid a full-scale war with Ethiopia. The Woyene regime has been an incubator of producing similar horrors for the citizens of Ogaden, Gambella, Anuuk tribe, Oromia, Amhara, Afar, and Somalia. By his crocodile pseudo- terrorism’s tear, the beast’s regime was able to install his continuous horrors, of butchering innocent lives, rapping young and elderly women, chronic corruptions, pathological liars, ethnic cleansing, land’s grabbing… all on the beautiful and proud people who have a noble history since the cradle of human-kind in Africa.
According to Dalai Lama, “When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities." The International Community should be bounded by utmost moral obligation of humanity and universal nobility to make this world serene environs in which all living creatures and human beings have alienable rights to live in harmony and peaceful state of mind. In addition, the International Community is indeed compelled to render universal actions against the TPLF, who have manifested as a wild and dangerous beast in Horn of Africa and Gulf of Eden as well. History has illustrated to the world that Hitler’s regime had come to an end because the International Community took decisive action against the regime once it had manifested itself into a clear and present danger. Therefore, the International Community must swiftly take punitive measures against this wild beast, before more innocent lives are extinguished in the Horn of Africa. HELP US!
